Adios Summer...Hello Academia

So we may not be the best bloggers in the world, but we're okay with that. Here's a BK2 update:

We tested out our green thumbs with some gardening this summer. It's amazing to see how much work actually goes into the food we eat and don't eat...especially when the terrible northwest slugs eat your produce. (Tip: fill pie tins with Pabst Blue Ribbon beer and the slugs will take a little beer dip instead of eating your precious greens.)

Beth was involved in a summer clinic for stutterers and finished up the last few prerequisites for her graduate program that just started. Brian started his Master's in Teaching program while working at Milford's. Brian also celebrated another birthday in July...one year wiser, cooler.

We celebrated our one year anniversary Spokane style. It's hard to believe how quickly this year flew by. We also took a trip down to Wyoming for the baptism of our nephew (and Godson) Wyatt. It was great to see Brian's family and to take a little break from school and work!

Dudley is doing great...in fact he just turned two! In honor of his big day we threw the 2nd Annual Hot Dog Party. Good times for everyone. We are expecting the up-coming Fall season to be very busy with school, family visits, and whatever else life throws our way. Hope you all are doing well...enjoy the pictures below!

The long winter of '09

Spring has sprung in Spokane--finally! It was a very long and cold winter here-an icebox with a 509 twist if you will. Since we are bad bloggers, here's a quick recap...

February brought the Zags with young alumni weekend. It was great to see our Zag friends and try to relive the glory days. We also got to experience a new part of Eastern Washington...thanks to Danny & Alicia and their family cabin.

March brought good news to the Kelley family...Brian got a job at Milford's, Beth was accepted into graduate school, and we became the proud Aunt & Uncle to Wyatt Joseph Kelley born on March 13, 2009. Congratulations Paul & Jess!

April has been busy as well--Brian was accepted into the Master's In Teaching Program at Gonzaga and will start at Gonzaga this Summer. Beth is finishing up her last month of school and then will resume later in the Summer as well. Expect some very smart and poor Kelleys in about two years!

So that's that. Enjoy the pics and...Happy Spring!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

Merry Christmas to all and to all a ton of snow! December has brought record snowfall to Spokane and to most of Washington state. Due to the weather, Beth's last two finals were canceled which meant more time to play in the winter wonderland with Brian & Dudley. Now we are enjoying some family time in Mount Vernon and getting ready for a wintry drive back east. Enjoy our snowy pics, plus some shots from Thanksgiving in Wichita with Brian's family. Hope everyone is well...Happy New Year!

The end of an era

Hi everyone--once again, sorry it has taken us so long to put new pictures on the blog! For the most part, things have been good here. Beth is busy with school, Brian is on a major job hunt (a recession is not the best time to find a job!).

In sad news, Brian's car, "blue destiny" 'died' last week when a drunk driver/racer crashed into it when it was parked in front of our house. The person sped away, but with the help of our neighbor we found the car that hit ours the next day. We felt like we were on an episode of CSI: Spokane. Unfortunately, their car was reported 'stolen' so no one is taking the blame for the murder of Brian's car. RIP Blue Destiny.

Included are pics of the car's demise and some fun fall photos. We hope you all are doing well and hope to see you soon!

End of Summer and Wedding Spree

Hi everyone! We have almost completed our wedding circuit for this year! Took a quick road-trip to Seattle for Benj & Megan's wedding. Awesome band, lots of sweet dance moves! The next weekend we were off to Tahoe for Jeff & Marie's wedding...perfect weather, gorgeous location! Congrats to you all!

Other than that we're getting into the swing of things in Spokane...Beth is back in school...(Go Eagles!) and Brian is in the midst of his job hunt. Dudley is loving life in Spokane. He has a girlfriend named Bella (Danny & Alicia Pearson's dog) and a new frisbee. Hope you all are doing well. Enjoy the pics!

A whole new world...

Hi everyone. It has been way too long since our last posting. We hope you all are having a great summer! Even though we're not living in the 'icebox of the nation' we will keep our blog going. Here's a quick summary of the past few months:

First off, we got married on July 5! The day was perfect. Thank you to all of you that made the trip to Spokane! If you would like to see some pictures of the big day, go to:

Enjoy the pictures!

Second, we took a fantastic honeymoon to Kauai. Our days were filled sun, swimming, snorkeling, and plain old relaxing.

And finally, we are now living in Spokane! We are gradually getting settled into our new home. We are enjoying our life in the 509. Dudley loves living so close to Manito Park.

We hope you are all doing well! Below are some pictures from our honeymoon and our new home.

Let the Great Melt begin!

Howdy folks. We are sad to report that our ski season has come to a close. We still have quite a bit of snow here, but it seems to be deflating rapidly. Dudley is experiencing mud and grass for the first time, and he really seems to enjoy eating mud.

We both have finished our employment at the ranch, and are enjoying some relaxing days. We are trying to burn off our wood pile before we head back to the Inland Empire. For those of you that don't know we will be moving to Spokane this summer as Beth is going back to school for speech pathology.

We will be leaving here in a few weeks, and are looking forward to seeing you all in Wyoming and Washington.

Check out our pics...more to come soon!
